Why These Policies?

DogCity prides itself in being a caretaker and sitter for many loved ones. In order for us to ensure the safety and well being of all the wonderful dogs such as yours who visit us, we have a few requirements. These requirements are for the benefit of all our guests.

Eligibility for DayCare and Boarding

General eligibility requirements:

  • Dogs must be at least 3 months of age.
  • ALL puppy boosters (shots) must be completed(final rounds MUST be given).
  • All dogs must be spayed/neutered (by the time they hit 6 months), because unaltered dogs destabilize the pack and are at greater risk of injury.

Newly adopted dogs need to wait at least 2 weeks

If you've recently adopted a new dog, please wait at least 2 weeks before enrolling them into daycare. They need time to adjust and bond with YOU. Some dogs do not handle change very well, and too much too soon can be overwhelming or problematic. Waiting a couple weeks makes the experience better for them.

Dogs must be in good health

No coughing, vomiting or diarrhea 72 hours prior to visit. If your dog was recently prescribed medication related to the aforementioned symptoms (or anything that could be contagious), their entire bottle of medication must be finished before returning.

Dogs must be flea and tick free

If we find either kind crawling on your dog, they will be dipped at your expense. No exceptions.

Vaccination records must be kept up to date

See our Getting Started page for details on required vaccinations.

A Temperament Test (i.e., behavioral evaluation) is required

See our Getting Started page and/or review our Temperament Test Details and FAQs page for more information.

Dogs must have a quick-release collar and name tag

Quick release collar and name tag requirement

For the safety of your dog and others, a quick release collar and name tag is required for all daycare and boarding guests. If your Pooch comes to daycare without a name tag to identify him during daycare/boarding, you will be charged a $10 fee for a house name tag. Example of a quick release collar

Late/Early Pickup and Drop Offs

Early Drop-off

Early drop-offs are by appointment only, pending the availability and schedule of our staff. As our office does not open until 7:30 am, we charge a $25 fee for early drop-offs during the week starting at 6:30 am. Arrangements must be made at least 24-48 hours prior to the desired date.

Cancellation Policy for Boarding

Reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to check-in to receive your deposit in-full. Within 72 hours of scheduled boarding, cancellations result in a forfeiture of deposit. If your Pooch is already boarding with us and you or someone you appoint decide to pick up early without a 48 hours notice, you will be charged the full amount of original reservation dates. This is to insure that everyone on our boarding reservation waiting lists is accommodated. No-shows are subject to a one night charge of $60.00 (the current rate for 1 night's stay).

Late Pick-up Policy and Fees

We accept late pickups by appointment only, pending the availability of staff. Dogs picked up after 6 p.m. without appointment will be charged a $25 late fee.
